Privacy & cookies.

this is a personal notebook, not a business. here's everything, plainly.

Why any of this exists

I write these pages by hand and I'm curious whether anyone reads them. That's the entire motive. There is no funnel, no mailing list, no advertising, and nothing here is sold or handed to a data broker.

What I can see

  • ·which pages you readin order, in memory only — gone when you close the tab
  • ·how long you stayedone number, in seconds
  • ·where you came fromthe referring site's name (linkedin.com), never the full link
  • ·your device type“mobile”, “Mac” or “Windows” — nothing more specific
  • ·roughly where you arecity and country, worked out by my host from your connection

If you download my résumé, those same details arrive on my phone as a notification. It's a genuinely nice thing to get. It carries no identifier at all unless you accepted cookies below.

What I can't

  • ·your IP address — my host turns it into a city and I never see the number
  • ·your name, email, or employer
  • ·your screen size, language, or anything else that could fingerprint your device
  • ·your full browser version string
  • ·anything at all from anywhere other than this site

Session recordings

With your consent I load Microsoft Clarity, which records how a page is scrolled and clicked so I can see where a layout confuses people. Clarity masks text input by default and I've added no code that unmasks it. Without consent the tool never loads at all.

My host, Vercel, also counts page views. That one is cookieless and anonymous by design, so it runs either way.

Your choice

Right now: you haven't answered yet.

Declining expires every cookie in the table above immediately. A recording already in progress can't be stopped mid-page, so it ends when you next load a page.

Asking me directly

Want to know what's attached to your code, or want it gone? Email tygi.yash@gmail.com and I'll sort it out by hand — there isn't enough data here for anything else.
